Morgan's Intelligence

This is how I know that kids can learn this stuff at much younger ages. It takes patience, dedication and higher standards from parents. Below is an unedited copy of a story that Morgan started to write about Madison. This is creative. Apparently, Madison is a supervillain whose only real power is pure destruction. If you knew Madison, this is absolutely true. But look how this is written. Punctuated, capitalized, and a good voice. I tried for two weeks to get one of my classes to write a story and they came nowhere near this.

CHAPTER 1
Madison was getting in to trouble. She was cutting the hair off of her toothbrush with cuticle scissors. “I wonder what Madison would do if she had a super power” Trina wondered aloud. “She might be able to turn invisible. Or even better- change to a tornado and fight of the super villain that rules planet no!” ring ring ring! The phone rang. “Hello? Who is this?” she said. “You can? Wow! What’ll it be? Tornado? Invisible? Fire? What?” the speaker spoke again. “DESTRUCTION!?!? Why, that’s just plain crazy! Destruction is a big job for a 2 year old! Can she handle it?” Again the speaker spoke. “Okay! Whatever you want!” Trina hung up and thought for a moment. She dialed up carly. “Hello. Who is this?”
“Trina K. CSB”
“Yeah, sure who do you want?”
“Is your mother home, Joslene?”
“Mom!!!!!!! Someone named Trina K. is on the phone about some weird CSB! Should I hang up?”
“Yes Trina? Whadaya want? New super powers for a baby?
“Madison. The one we’ve been looking at for our meetings.”
“Have her powers been given to her yet?”
“Hopefully not. Her Power is DESRUCTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Carly spit out whatever she was drinking. She Ran to her room and flipped through the Powers book disguised as a cook book. “Not good at all! She can cause tsunamis and earthquakes. Make things split into a million pieces by screaming!!!!! Be tornados, hurricanes and other natural disasters. She can cause sonic booms and shatter glass. It’s horrible!
